Cultivating Youth Summer Internship

This Summer learn life and job skills in a beginning job experience with Cultivate South Park!
We are excited to offer learning sessions in valuable and rarely taught life skills to help youth aged 14-19 into young adulthood, including financial literacy and education across a number of topics, job application tips, creative career skills with visual art, healthy fitness habits, cooking, and creative expression/wellbeing.
You will:
Learn photography and videography skills with our partners Photography Center NW and Steve Hyde Film Productions.
Learn resume and cover letter writing with the South Park branch of the Seattle Public Library.
Learn how to grow food, how to keep our soils healthy, and other food and environmental justice topics with Solid Ground at Marra Farm.
Host a “pop up market” at Wellness Tuesday Pop Ups at the Duwamish River Community Hub.
Earn your CPR/1st Aid certification card.
Participate in fitness workshops from step aerobics to qigong.
Host an art show featuring your very own photography and paintings at SOPASUPA (South Park’s Summer Party)
And much, much more!
Key Information:
Youth aged 14-19 from South Park and the surounding areas are eligible to apply.
Be prepared to work 18-25 hours per week: July 16th to August 15th, T/W/TH, 10am-4:15pm.
You will be asked to commit to working at least 2 Summer events. These events will be held on Saturdays.
Depending on planned tasks, your work day may begin earlier or end later. Your supervisor will notify you of schedule changes well in advance.
Stipend for successfully completing the program is $1,000.00.
Additional stipends will be awarded for working additional community events outside of the usual program hours.
