Cultivating Youth Summer Internship
This Summer learn life and job skills in a
beginning job experience with Cultivate South Park!
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
June 30 to August 25, 2026
We are excited to offer learning sessions in valuable and rarely taught life skills to help youth aged 14-19 into young adulthood, including financial education, job application preparation & coaching, creative career skills, farming and environmental knowledge at the Marra Farm, culinary arts, and creative expression/wellbeing.
This is work experience in service, food, and event industries with the weekly Tuesday Markets in the Plaza. This year we are excited to partner with KEXP in music industry and DJ skills, Gage Art Academy, Solid Ground, Communities of Rooted Brilliance, Key Bank, and more!
Key Information:
Youth aged 14-19 from South Park and the surrounding areas are eligible to apply.
Orientation Meeting: Weds June 24 at 1-4pm at the “Middle Space” downstairs of the South Park Hall. This is the old Tasty’s space at 8603 14th Ave S.
Be prepared to participate 18-25 hours per week: June 30th to August 25th, Tuesdays 11:30am to 8pm, W/TH, 11am-6pm.
Additional required work dates for special events are: Saturday August 8 all day for the neighborhood celebration SOPASUPA, and Saturday August 15 time TBD (afternoon) for participation in the Youth Art Show at Postmark Center for the Arts, Auburn, with Communities of Rooted Brilliance.
Stipend for successfully completing the program is $1,500.00. If you have an emergency or are sick, there is some allowance for missing days, but if you are late or absent more, it will be reflected in a smaller stipend. Please come on time and all days possible, just as you would at a regular job.
Additional stipends will be awarded for working additional community events outside of the usual program hours. There will be a few other Saturday community events where you can work for extra compensation.
